Born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas and raised in California since a young child, Yung Cashis, also known as Cashalotti, is a seasoned voice in the West Coast rap scene, an artist whose story is etched with hustle, reinvention, and unshakable drive. He began writing music in the late ’90s and early 2000s, forging a lyrical identity rooted in ambition, struggle, and calculated style.
Cashis made a name for himself grinding independently, balancing his music career with his fashion brand, Cashalotti Clothing Co., turning both into extensions of his no-handouts mentality. Fans and peers alike are drawn to his money-motivated, go-getter energy and methodically smooth lyrical delivery, always confident, always on point.
We first crossed paths in the underground circuit while working with the Siccos and Murda Gang, during the same era I first connected with Wreccless. Even then, Yung Cashis had a sharp eye and deeper respect for craftsmanship in music. He recognized what I brought to the table as a producer, Fatmat 2.0 and I recognized his rare mix of hunger, style, and lyrical control. Years later, that mutual respect led him back to FM Sound Studios, where we locked in to craft a hard-hitting, classic rap album that captures both his evolution and our shared roots. This upcoming release is more than music, it’s a statement of growth, survival, and staying power.
Cashalotti has performed on stages throughout the West Coast and beyond, promoting shows and absorbing game from some of the most respected names in the business. He’s built relationships and shared insight with legends like E-40, Yukmouth, Mistah F.A.B., Coolio (RIP), Shock G (RIP), Celly Cel, The Jacka (RIP), AP9, Killa Tay, Capone, and Kurupt. His performance and collaboration credits run deep, with appearances alongside Marvaless, Luni Coleone, C-Bo, Too Short, Turf Talk, X-Raided, Brotha Lynch Hung, J. Diggs, Baby Bash, The Luniz, and WC just to name a few.
What they all share with Yung Cashis is that relentless drive and an ear for quality. He’s not chasing trends, he’s focused on legacy. With his next project produced entirely at FM Sound Studios and Music, he’s ready to remind the world what timeless West Coast rap sounds like when it’s done right.
